The last blog post I wrote was in October where I announced my 2018 home stretch goals. The idea behind this was that after the complete shit show of a year 2018 has been for me I was finally feeling back to my old self. The year was almost over but I still felt like I had so much more to do. And oh boy have the last few months been busy.
I’ve been writing my second book, The Hormone Diaries (pre-order now!), I was in a Little Mix music video and did some events/interviews with them. The new flat looks amazing and is basically furnished, we even hosted our first Christmas! I went to Disneyland Paris! And I’ve started working with PlayStation on their Something for the Weekend campaign by doing some weekly vlogs. A lot has been happening.
I do not feel prepared going into 2019 at all. I’ve got some projects from 2018 that are running over into the new year so it doesn’t really feel like a fresh start. And don’t have the mental space or actual time to do a big reset my life challenge. I was discharged from hospital on 26th January 2018 after being there since 28th December 2017. It feels like I’ve run out of time this year and I need an extension on my deadline. So watch this space as I’m going to be doing some serious planning and goal setting at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb. If you’re into organisation and productivity I’m sure you’ll be as excited as I am. Also, you can make resolutions any time of year! Dates are arbitrary!
So how did I do with my #2018homestretch?
- Run 5k! I did this! The final episode of my ‘Surgery to 5k’ series will be my first video going live in January and I’m very excited to share it with you. The Saturday before Christmas I did my first Park Run since having my surgeries and you’ll have to watch the video to find out the time I did it in.
- Do Vlognukah! I kind of did this! Yes, Vlognukah happened, I did 8 videos over 8 days. However, I had challenged myself to actually daily vlog but with the weekly vlogs I’m doing for PlayStation, writing my book and uploading daily it just wasn’t possible. Also, I had lots of video ideas of things I wanted to make so as with previous years I pre-filmed everything! You can watch all the videos here if you missed any.
- Secret project deadline! Well now you know what the secret project is, it’s The Hormone Diaries book! As I said in the last blog post my actual deadline in mid-Jan but I wanted to get it finished before Christmas. Hahahahaha that didn’t happen. I’ll be a hermit in January until I finish this book!
- Read 8 more books! Soooo close! I’ve read 7 more books and I’m currently on the 8th but I think it’s unrealistic that I’ll finish it today. Unless I do nothing else except read but I want to go to the cinema today and need to run some errands. It’s Jack of Hearts (And Other Parts) by L. C. Rosen and I’m on page 63/337. Hmm…
I don’t think I did too badly. Everything got done or almost done. When I did the original post I asked people to share their #2018homestretch goals so if you did that let me know in the comments how you did! And do you have any 2019 goals/resolutions?
You’ve done pretty well for the year, especially considering how much time was spent incapacitated. Fro surgery to 5K is quite the accomplishment on it’s own. Frank
I’ve never been a good runner, and always thought that learning to run 5k would take an age for me. When you challenged yourself to run 5k before Christmas I was in disbelief. I’m SO impressed by your achievement; it gives me faith that I can do it too! I’m going to get couch to 5k and give it a go and hopefully by June I can run the womens mini marathon in Dublin – I’ll try to rope some friends in too.
Aside from that I want to spend less time on social media, read more books (I’m going to set a pages goal instead of an amount of books) and be late less (I’m terrible….but hopefully if I’m early for things I can sit and read while I wait). I should also start my art and travel blog because I’ve been paying for the domain on a blank website for 6 months…
You are a productivity inspiration Hannah, well done on your achievements this year!
